Join us on Saturday, October 19, 2013 from 10:00am – 1:00pm in Washington, D.C. for our Young Sikh Leaders Workshop!
The UNTIED SIKHS Young Sikh Leaders Workshop (YSLW) will provide students of undergraduate universities to gather at our nation’s capitol to build their leadership and advocacy skills. They will meet with Sikh activists and leaders to learn about issues that affect the Sikh American community and discover possible action that may be taken to make a difference in the community.
Through the workshop, our young leaders will become aware of social issues, expand their knowledge on strategic solutions, build relationships and gain mentors with leaders from the community, and develop confidence to advocate for Sikh rights. YSLW 2013 will focus on exploring Sikh American history in the United States, post-9/11 xenophobia and hate crime increases, bias-based bullying among youth, and tools to address misconceptions.
