The overwhelming response from our community last year made the survey and the Global Report a huge success. We are confident that the survey this year will be completed with the same amount of enthusiasm as last year. This will allow us to focus on issues most relevant to the community worldwide.and thus protect Sikh civil and human rights globally,

UNITED SIKHS globally has been weighing in on issues of hate crimes, current policies and practices towards minority communities, particularly the Sikh community over the last three years. In 2012, we hope to increase the number of surveys completed, which requires action from you. Please make sure to forward the survey to your contacts. This survey will make a difference!

The United Nation’s Human Rights Committee (UNHRC) recently upheld 76-year-old Ranjit Singh’s fundamental right to practice his religion in France in a case filed by UNITED SIKHS lawyers. The UNHRC said that France had violated Ranjit Singh’s right to practice his faith by asking him to remove his turban for his photo ID card. This landmark decision will remind other countries of the significance of the Sikh turban so that they do not pass laws or implement airport screening procedures that require the indiscriminate removal of a Sikh’s turban.

We can only advocate for you,  if we are aware of your human and civil rights issues, wherever you live.  UNITED SIKHS urges you to complete the survey and spread the word freely in the community.

We believe we are doing our best to help make a difference globally, do you? If yes, then please become a recurring donor or make your one time tax deductible donation today.
